Nell Elizabeth (Carpenter) Boggs Obituary

Nell Elizabeth (Carpenter) Boggs was born February 10, 1938, in Jackson County and departed this life Monday, February 12, 2024, at her residence in Lexington at the age of 86. She was the daughter of the late Raleigh & Eliza (Lear) Carpenter.

Nell is survived by her son Manuel Boggs of Lexington, KY; by two brothers, Ben Lee (Carol Ann) Carpenter of Richmond and Ted Carpenter of McKee and by three sisters, Jewel (James) Denham of Annville, Judy Eden of Richmond and Betty Jean Stevens of Indianapolis, IN. She was blessed with a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nell was also preceded in death by a sister, Opal Dannelly and by two brothers, Oval Carpenter and Eddie Carpenter.

Nell worked through the Jackson County Board of Education for over 30 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Joey Kays officiating. Burial to follow in the Carpenter Family Cemetery. Pallbearers: Brian Eden, Chris Eden, Odell Carpenter, Jerry Carpenter, Dean Danley, & Trey Eden. Honorary pallbearer: Parker Eden.
