Burlon Hisel Obituary

Burlon Hisel was born March 29, 1933 in Jackson County and departed this life Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond at the age of 90. He was the son of the late Dorsie & Reecie (Evans) Hisel.

Burlon is survived by two children, Odell (Jonnie) Hisel of McKee and Reba (David) Kerby of Sand Gap. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Jesse (Regina) Kerby, Shannon Dale (Sarah) Hisel, Patty Jo (Steven) Johnson and Dreama (Steven) Lainhart and by one great granddaughter, Marie Lainhart. He’s also survived by a brother, Monroe (Maryleen) Hisel of Sand Gap and by two sisters, Roberta Davidson of Berea and Linda Sue Isaacs of Baltimore Maryland.

In addition to his parents, Burlon was also preceded in death by his wife, Ethel (Powell) Hisel; by a son Randall Hisel; by a brother, Ebb Hisel and by two sisters, Eudell Rogers and Fay Sparks.

Burlon was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist and was retired from Blue Grass Army Depot.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Eugene Gentry and Bro. Jesse Kerby officiating. Burial will follow in the Combs Cemetery. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com.
