Correction to Photo Identification in this week's JCHS Lady Generals Story

It has come to our attention that a picture in this week's Jackson County Sun was misidentified. "Last Tuesday the Lady Generals played the Lady Kats from Lee County. Behind a strong pitching performance from Candice Williams, who only allowed one hit, the Lady Generals won by a score of 15-0. Aubrey Estridge led the Lady Generals on the offensive side with her first career home run."

We included a picture of Aubrey Estridge but misidentified it. Our apologies. Congratulations to Aubrey for her first career home run!

JCHS Lady Generals Softball Team Off to Strong Start

The Jackson County High School Lady Generals, with a record of seven wins and three losses, are off to a strong start to the 2023-24 softball season. Last Tuesday they played the Lady Kats from Lee County. Behind a strong pitching performance from Candice Williams, who only allowed one hit, the Lady Generals won by a score of 15-0. Aubrey Estridge led the Lady Generals on the offensive side with her first career home run. Ella Sallee also had a strong hitting night with two doubles.

Their next game was against the Knox Central Lady Panthers. The Lady Generals won 6-0. Candice Williams had another dominant pitching performance only giving up one hit and striking out fifteen. Lexi Brockman, Blakelynn Fee, and Ella Sallee led the offense with two hits each.

On Friday evening, they faced the North Laurel Lady Jaguars. The Lady Generals got off to a good start offensively but were unable to get any runs across the plate early and eventually lost 11-1. Finally, the Lady Generals faced the Berea Lady Pirates Monday night and won by a score of 21-0. Candice Williams struck out the twelve batters she faced. She also had two hits. Aubrey Estridge, Blakelynn Fee, Emily Mays, Kylie Moore (two triples), and Ella Sallee led the offense with two hits each.
