Lester Jr. Sites Obituary

Lester Jr. Sites was born in Coal Field, West Virginia on September 23, 2024, and departed this life in London, KY on April 7, 2024, at the age of 96. He was the son of the late Moses Washington & Elizabeth Robaugh Sites.

Lester was a Seaman First Class in the Navy on the Aircraft carrier In World War II. He had received a victory medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal. He also served on the USS Menker and the USS Strong. When he was on the Aircraft Carrier for three years. He was sixteen when he signed up for the Navy. Lester retired for General Motors and a member of the Bradshaw Baptist Church having been saved at the age of 95.

He is survived by two sisters, Edith Jennings and Ruth Wilkerson.

In addition to his parents, Lester was also preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Edwards Sites.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Pilgrams Rest Cemetery. Military honors will be held by the local D.A.V. Jack Welch Chapter #165. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
