Cathleen Barrett, affectionately known as “Mammie” to everyone, was born on May 29, 1940, to the late Elmer and Carrie (Bowling) Muncy in Jackson County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Friday, October 3, 2025, being 85 years old.
Mammie is survived by her children Danny Muncy and Boo and Pamela McCowan and Jason, as well as her daughter-in-law, Charlotte Muncy. Her siblings, Keith (Karen) Muncy and Elizabeth (Sis) Vaughn. She was blessed with the following grandchildren: Gina Woodyard, Brian Muncy, Daniel Muncy, Bryce Muncy, Adam McCowan, Bailee Muncy, Abigail McCowan, and great-grandchildren: Owen Muncy, Karson Muncy, Axel Muncy, Lincoln Muncy, Zoey Woodyard, Callan Woodyard, Sawyer Muncy, and Canon Muncy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Barrett and a son, Doug Muncy. Her sisters Shirley Huff and Beatrice Britton.
She was a member of the Green Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral Services for Mammie will be held at 1 P.M., Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Green Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Morgan presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include Brian Muncy, Daniel Muncy, Bryce Muncy, Adam McCowan, Owen Muncy, and Karson Muncy. Honorary Pallbearers include Jason McCowan, Mike Estridge, Larry Estridg,e and Mike Wilson.
