To the citizens of Jackson County:
Jackson County was filled with racing enthusiasts this weekend for the Boone Forest Rally. Hundreds of visitors from as far as New York, Missouri, Ohio, and even Japan came to participate in and witness a truly memorable race. The weather was perfect, and the event was conducted without a hitch. I want to express my sincere appreciation to the many volunteers who helped make the Boone Forest Rally a great success. We anticipate next year will be even bigger and better!
Meanwhile, our flood relief project continues with the help of volunteers from across the state. The State Emergency Management team has partnered closely with our local EM efforts to assist every flood victim to the greatest extent possible. Additionally, our road crews have worked alongside State Highway personnel to address emergency road repairs. State and local efforts have allowed us to pick up tons of flood debris that were stationed alongside state and county roads. We are currently waiting for approval from State Emergency Funds to repair the bridge on Cave Springs Road. I believe this assistance has brought hope to many victims, and we will continue to do everything in our power to complete the work on our roadways and bridges to move our county forward.
We are also collecting the necessary information to request funding to repair as many county roads as possible. Our county road supervisor, Deputy Judge Executive, and I have a meeting scheduled at the Department of Highways in Frankfort on Tuesday, July 28, and we hope to begin paving approved roads very soon.
Our County Detention Center, Road Department, Solid Waste Department, Sheriff's Office, Dispatch Center, and Emergency Management Service are all working closely with my office to address the challenges we face. I am deeply committed to the people of Jackson County and am determined to overcome these obstacles to make our county a place where people truly want to live. Thank you for your continued support.
God bless,
Paul Hays
