Jackson County Wagon & Saddle Club Raise Money For Cancer Fund

Posted

Saturday night the local Wagon and Saddle Club pulled off their biggest show since starting in 2015. Everyone was concerned about the weather, other shows were cancelled but the JCWSC held firm and welcomed many new exhibitors and horses to this year’s show. After a slight delay the show began and finished under a dry sky.

This Fall Funshow was set as a Cancer Fund Benefit show. Members from the saddle club and cancer group worked side by side, diligently to make the show and silent auction as positive and welcoming as possible. We were able to make a profit of $5,711.15, all of which will go to our local cancer chapter and 100% of that money will be used to help support Jackson Co citizens with gas, food, utilities etc when they are in the biggest battle of their lives.

We want to thank anyone that has played any part in making this show a success, , just know you are appreciated. From the sponsors (individuals and businesses), donators (from a load of gravel to a dish towel set), exhibitors, spectators, concessions, announcer, judge and all the volunteers that helped make this a great success and showing just how much good we can do for one another.

Need to thank WWAG owners and staff for promoting the show at no charge. Thank you to Jamie Strong for making sure the flashing sign get setup on Hwy 421 to help with directions. The sponsors are listed below, please frequent these local business

The show itself had several new horses due to surrounding shows being cancelled. At least 2 of these first timer groups, said they had a blast and look forward to coming to the next show in May 2027. This show featured a lot of really nice horses and mules. Being a “fun show”, the club offers classes you don’t often see at most shows, such as bareback riding, doubles riding, baby bottle etc. but also offer many of your favorite pleasure classes.

Being able to bring new people into our county can only help, every good experience in Jackson Co, a good word of mouth. If they leave smiling, they will return. We want to recognize the riders that have attended year after year, we’ve begun to know each other by name, face and horse. We look forward to seeing them each year.

From the Cancer Group:
Thank You, Jackson County Wagon & Saddle Club! The Jackson County Cancer Fund would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Jackson County Wagon & Saddle Club for donating all proceeds from this year’s Fall Horse Show to support our organization. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out, participated, and showed their support by bidding on our donated items.

Your generosity means so much to us and to the families we serve. Every dollar raised stays right here in Jackson County, helping our friends, neighbors, and loved ones who are battling cancer. We would also like to give a special thank-you to all of our wonderful volunteers who give their time and hard work to make events like this possible. Thank you for helping us continue our mission of supporting the people of Jackson County!

There were many sponsors and donators, I hope to list them all, some donations were made anonymously. We could not have made some amount of money if not for these local sponsors, business and individuals.
