With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeanie Ridnour Collier after a brief illness on September 11, 2026.
Jeanie was born on March 5th in Oneida, Kentucky, and attended Eastern Kentucky University, where she met and married the love of her life, Gary Roger Collier. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in faith, family, and friendship.
Jeanie was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Known for her warmth, selflessness, and generous spirit, she had a gift for making others feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Her faith and compassion guided her throughout her life, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand.
During her 37-year career in Human Resources at HCA, Jeanie was a respected professional, trusted mentor, and valued colleague. She brought that same dedication to her church, her friendships, and most of all, her family.
Her family was at the center of her life. She cherished time spent with those she loved and offered them guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support. She will be remembered for her faith, her wisdom and grace, the love she gave so freely, and the many lives she enriched.
Jeanie is survived by her loving children, daughter, Paige Collier Thompson and her husband, Scott Thompson, and son, Gary Chadwick Collier and his wife, Sarah Collier; her beloved grandchildren, Collier Scott Thompson, Carlie Paige Thompson, Lora Catherine Collier, and Samuel Chadwick Collier; her brother, Jerry T. Ridnour of Dallas, Texas, and his wife, Patricia Ridnour. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Roger Collier; her parents, John R. Ridnour and Lora B. Ridnour; and her brother, John Robert Ridnour II.
Visitation will take place on September 22nd, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel Narthex at Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Road, Brentwood, Tennessee. A service celebrating Jeanie’s life will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Jeanie’s honor to the Brentwood United Methodist Church Foundation. Checks may be made payable to BUMC Foundation, with “Joyful Noise – Jeanie Collier Memorial” in the memo line, and mailed to 309 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN 37027.
