Joshua Christopher Sampson was born August 23, 1988, in Clay County and departed this life Friday, August 28, 2026, in Middlesboro at the age of 38. He was the son of the late Gordon Lynn Sampson and Sandra Sue (Minter) Sampson.
Josh is survived by his fiancé and mother of his children, Kayla Gabbard and by three children, Alyssa Christine Sampson, Bentley Christopher Sampson and Camden Keith Sampson all of McKee. He is also survived by three siblings, Jessica Lynn Sampson of Sand Gap, Joseph Gordon Sampson of Sand Gap, and Jennifer Sue Sampson of Berea; by his grandmother, Barbara Baxterby his aunt, Tammy Minter Sparks and uncle Gary Minter and by a host of cousins, nephews and by a niece.
In addition to his parents, Josh was also preceded in death by his twin infant sons, Devin & Daarin Sampson; and by his grandfathers, Clifford “Red” Minter and Donald Roy Baxter. As well as an Uncle Keith Sampson.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM September 2, 2026, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow at the King-Gabbard Cemetery. Pallbearers: Joseph Sampson, Kobe Sampson, Jason Dawson, Kenton Rader, Zack Rader, Bladimir Perez, Bentley Sampson and Camden Sampson.
A visitation will begin at 11 A.M. on Wednesday at the Lakes Funeral Home Chapel in McKee.
