It has been reported that Scottie Shelton, 54, of Laurel County entered a plea agreement, pleading guilty to drug possession and distribution charges on Feb. 11, 2026.
Scottie Shelton was arrested on August 12 after a search of his property led to the discovery of 6,000 pills “consistent in appearance with Oxycodone” and 1,200 grams of methamphetamine, according to an affidavit by Special Agent David Wilson with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
During the search, Wilson also said officers found a white metal structure on Shelton’s property and smelled a strong odor of something decaying coming from the inside.
After Shelton consented to a search, Wilson said deputies found a cell-like room that appeared to be a “torture chamber” with handcuffs, rope and other devices.
Deputies also reportedly found a deer carcass inside a room, multiple firearms and what appeared to be a human bone buried in the structure’s garage.
Wilson’s affidavit said Shelton advised officers that an unknown male had “brought Indian remains to his residence and buried them in the garage area.”
Per Shelton’s plea agreement, he pled guilty to count one of his indictment, admitting he knowingly and intentionally possessed 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
Shelton also pled guilty to the second count of the indictment, which alleged he possessed a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.
Shelton is facing a minimum of 10 years in prison with a maximum of life in prison.
