The Mitchell Madden benefit fundraiser was a tremendous success, and the family would like to take this opportunity to express their deepest and most sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make it possible.
Through the generosity of people throughout Jackson County and beyond, we were able to raise enough money to pay Mitchell’s funeral expenses in full and provide his wife, Brandi, with a check for $26,496. This money will help her catch up on bills and also allow her to purchase the headstone of her choice in memory of Mitchell.
This accomplishment would not have been possible without the countless people who donated money, food, merchandise, services, auction items and their time. So many individuals, churches, businesses, organizations, friends and neighbors worked together to make this fundraiser happen. To everyone who donated, volunteered, worked behind the scenes, attended the fundraiser, purchased items, gave financially or simply offered prayers and encouragement — thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
What happened through this fundraiser is a beautiful example of people coming together and going above and beyond their Christian duty to help a family during one of the most difficult times of their lives. The amount of hard work, love and generosity shown throughout this effort has been overwhelming and humbling.
But most of all, we give God all the praise and glory. We know that every door that was opened, every person who gave, every donation that came in and every bit of work that was accomplished was made possible because God provided and brought people together. We are thankful for His blessings and for the way He worked through so many people to meet this family’s needs.
One thing I can say about the people of Jackson County is that they are what makes this county so special. When one of our own is hurting, people come together. Neighbors help neighbors, churches step up, businesses give back, and ordinary people do extraordinary things.
There truly is no place like home, and I am proud to be a true Jackson County citizen. This fundraiser has reminded us once again of the compassion, generosity and strength that exists within our community.
To everyone who played a part in making this possible, thank you. Your kindness will never be forgotten, and your generosity has made a lasting difference in Brandi’s life as she continues forward.
Thank you all, and may God bless each and every one of you.
