Ruth Grimes was born on August 28, 1946, in Jackson Co. Kentucky and departed this life on September 18, 2025, being 79 years of age. She is the daughter of the late Nolan and Bea (Arnold) Grimes.
She is survived by a brother Ruford Grimes and his wife Carol of Sand Gap and a sister Opals Hobbs of McKee. As well as a host of nieces and nephews who thought of her as a mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ray, Roy, Wright, Noah and Lorene Grimes. As well as a niece Vanessa Grimes and three great nephews, AJ Reese, John Shackelford and Tibor Bocska.
Ruth was a member of Sand Gap Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Cook Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Carpenter officiating. Pallbearers include Nolan Grimes, Jason Grimes, Randy Grimes, Tom Grimes, Phillip Browning and Tibor Bocska.
