LONDON, KY (July 27, 2026) – Saint Joseph London will now have CommonSpirit as part of their names. As part of Saint Joseph Health, CommonSpirit – Saint Joseph Hospital – London has been connected to CommonSpirit since 2019 when CHI and Dignity merged to form one of the largest nonprofit healthcare systems in the country.
In addition, the Saint Joseph physician offices and clinics will adopt the name, CommonSpirit Medical Group. While the name is changing, caregivers – including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and other clinicians – will continue to provide the same high quality care Saint Joseph has been known for.
Caregivers across Kentucky have been celebrating a new chapter in the ministry this week with events throughout the market, including at hospitals in Bardstown, Berea, Lexington and Mount Sterling, as well as the outpatient care center in Nicholasville and clinics throughout Kentucky. While new signage will be evident on the outside of the hospitals, work will continue throughout this calendar year on updating CommonSpirit Medical Group and internal hospital signage throughout the market.
“Our history will always be part of who we are, and as we move forward together under the CommonSpirit name, we do so with the same mission and dedication to care that our patients and communities know and trust,” said John Yanes, FACHE, CPPS, president, CommonSpirit – Saint Joseph Hospital – London. “This year, we celebrated a century of service to the people of London and southeastern Kentucky. We are just entering a new phase of that commitment to our community.”
While the primary hospital campuses have been updated, it will take several months for the CommonSpirit signage to be updated at all locations across Kentucky.
