Sallie M. (Hacker) Gabbard Fields was born December 12, 1945, in Jackson County and departed this life Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington at the age of 80. She was the daughter of the late Alfred & Gladys (Moore) Hacker.
Sallie is survived by the following children, Jason (Lynn) Gabbard of McKee, Burnis Ray (Linda) Gabbard of Annville, Julia (Jackie) Deaton of McKee, Ruthie Abney of Irvine and Brenda (Shelby) Deaton of Manchester. She is also survived by her twin brother, Fred Hacker of Gray Hawk. She was blessed with seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and by a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sallie was also preceded in death by her first husband, Isaac Burnis Gabbard; by her second husband, Oscar Fields; by three children, Isaac Gabbard, Gary Gabbard and Louann Gabbard and by her siblings, Jerry Lee Hacker, Kenneth Hacker, Jean Johnson and Emma Sue Hacker.
Sallie was a member of the Egypt Pentecostal Church.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Medlock & Annville Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jody Culton, Adam Culton, Delbert Ball, Jonathan Ball, David Eversole, Wes Deaton, Jackie Deaton & Mike Bowling.
