Dear Families and Community,
As summer ends and the excitement of a fresh start fills the air, it is my honor and privilege to welcome each and every one of you to the 2026–2027 school year! Whether your family is joining Jackson County Public Schools for the first time or returning to familiar hallways, our dedicated teachers, staff, and administrators are thrilled to open our doors and welcome our students back to learning. Every new school year represents a clean slate, a chance to set new goals, build lasting friendships, and create unforgettable memories.
Our commitment this year is to ensure the following priorities:
• Creating a secure, healthy, and welcoming environment is our highest priority. We continue to evaluate and enhance our safety protocols, campus security measures, and emotional support resources so that every student and staff member feels safe, respected, and supported every single day.
• School should be a place where curiosity is sparked and learning is engaging! From hands-on classroom activities to extracurricular opportunities, athletics, and community events, we are committed to making school a place where students genuinely look forward to coming each morning.
• Our teachers have worked hard over the summer preparing dynamic, high-quality instruction tailored to meet the needs of every learner. We aim to empower each student with the critical thinking skills, tools, and confidence necessary to thrive academically and achieve their personal best.
•. Consistent attendance, strong study habits, and active engagement are the cornerstones of a productive year. Together as a school community, we will foster a culture of accountability, continuous progress, and mutual encouragement.
We know that true student success is only possible through strong partnerships between our schools, families, and local community. We encourage parents and guardians to stay connected through our district communication platforms, attend school events, and communicate regularly with your children’s teachers.
To our Jackson County community leaders and neighbors: thank you for your unwavering support of our schools and future leaders.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children’s education and well-being. Together, let us make the 2026–2027 school year our safest, most joyful, and most successful year yet!
With warm regards and excitement for the year ahead,
Renee Smith, Superintendent
