Week two of the Jackson County Varsity Boys Basketball Fall League continued to build momentum, with all four youth teams back in action. The players showed improvement in both fundamentals and teamwork, demonstrating the progress they’ve made since opening weekend.
Each game was filled with hustle, effort, and excitement, with every team contributing to the competitive but supportive atmosphere. The league is already demonstrating its value in providing players a chance to learn from game situations, build confidence, and experience the enjoyment of playing organized basketball.
Skill training also remained an important focus, with younger players in grades K-2 working alongside older students in grades 3-5. Varsity players again stepped into coaching roles, offering guidance and encouragement while teaching both the basics and more advanced concepts of the game. Parents and families filled the gym to cheer on the players, helping create an intense community atmosphere.
As the league heads into its third week, the foundation is being laid for future success in Jackson County basketball—both on the court in terms of skills and off it in building lasting connections. Current standings after two weeks are: Lakers 4-0, Bulls 2-2, Thunder 1-3, and Celtics 1-3.
