The Jackson County Generals and Lady Generals made history last week by claiming the 13th Region All “A” Championship. This earned them a berth to the State All “A” Tournament over the weekend.
The Boys’ team put together an impressive team performance at the All A State Golf Tournament on Saturday at Gibson Bay, finishing with a combined team score of 305, good enough to tie for fourth place against some of the toughest small-school competition in Kentucky.
Leading the way for the Generals was Micah Summers, who carded a steady round of 73 (+1) — just four strokes shy of the winning individual score. His brother, Eli Summers, wasn’t far behind, turning in a strong 74 (+2).
Jackson Lakes added depth to the lineup with a 77, while Dylan Gay posted an 81. Rounding out the Generals’ scoring was Elijah Thomas, who battled through the challenging Gibson Bay course to finish with a 95.
The Girls’ team scored 513 and finished in 11th place. Marla Coffey led the team with a score of 118. Kelsey Miller followed with a score of 124. Remmie Bingham scored 134 and Kady Fee scored 137.
