Ms. Marilyn Sandlin is beginning her 29th year working at JCHS. This year as Secretary.
Her favorite thing is being a Mimi to her four grandchildren and spending time with her family. She has two daughters, Tausha Hughes, and Miranda Parker who both work in the Laurel County School System.
Ms. Sandlin said "I thank the Lord for giving me a wonderful family. I love Goodwill shopping, camping, fishing and spending time with co-workers I love."
Ms. Sandlin is the friendly face you will see when you enter JCHS, she goes above and beyond for the teachers and students.
A co-worker had this to say about Ms. Sandlin:
“For 28 years, Marilyn has been the warm, welcoming presence that makes our school feel like home. Every morning, without fail, she arrives early to make coffee, greet the day with a smile, and set a positive tone for students and staff alike. Her cheerful spirit, kindness, and generosity have become part of the very fabric of our school community.
Marilyn is not only dedicated to her duties-she is faithful to them. Whether helping a student in need, or offering a reassuring word to a busy teacher, she does everything with patience, grace, and genuine care. She knows students by name and never misses a moment to celebrate their milestones, comfort them when they struggle, or encourage them to keep going.
Her steadfast presence over nearly three decades has brought stability, joy, and warmth to our halls. She embodies the very best of school spirit-service, love, and unwavering commitment. our students trust her, our staff depends on her, and our school is better because of her.
She is truly the heart of our school.”
