The JCHS Generals Baseball season is now underway. The team was scheduled to start play on the 16th and 17th of March. That did not happen due to the weather. The team will begin All-A tournament play on the week of March 23. The team is the reigning 13th Region All-A champions and we certainly hope to defend that title.
The 2025 Generals Baseball season was one of the better success stories in program history. We won the 13th Region All-A Classic for only the second time in school history, set (dating back as far as KHSAA scoreboards go back) a school record for wins in a season, and won the 49th district championship for only the fourth time in school history. The 2026 group looks to build on that success and we plan to continue the work. This team has set its eyes on trying to secure back-to-back 13th Region All-A titles as well as repeating as district champions.
The Generals return several key players who contributed heavily from last season’s team. Ashton Clemons, Michael Sparks, Elijah Thomas, Davon Seals and Jackson Lakes are all returning starters from last season’s squad. The team also returns several sophomores and other upperclassmen who are going to be relied on in a much more utilized role including; Ben Marks (sr.) Wyatt Dunn, Jamison and Jonathon Roark (so.), Tansen Truett (so.), Maddox Vaughn (so.) and Braxton Coyle (so.). The team has also brought in several newcomers who will help the program tremendously. These include; Dylan Gay (sr. new student), Eli Summers (fr.), Hez Neeley (fr.), Hunter Thomas (fr.), Peyton Gabbard (fr.), Hez Purkey (fr.), Bentley Gray (fr.) and Tyler Adkins (fr.).
We are looking forward to the challenge of defending the district and regional all-a titles. This is a group that is willing to get to the hard work and do what it takes to continue to move the program forward. We hope to see you on the hill this spring!
