According to sources within the Jackson County Board of Education, Jackson County Generals Boys’ Basketball Head Coach Parker Stewart will not return to coach the team for a second season (2026-27). Coach Stewart will instead work for the Montgomery County school system next season. We reached out to Coach Stewart and Superintendent Smith to provide an opportunity for comment(s) but received no response from either.
The 2025–26 season was a breakthrough year for the Jackson County Generals boys’ varsity basketball program, highlighted by one of the largest win-total jumps in the state. Coming in at #2 in Kentucky for win total improvement, the Generals finished with 21 wins (only the 4th 20+ Win Season since 1998). This was a remarkable +10 swing that reflects the group’s hard work, buy-in, and growing confidence.
The team navigated a demanding schedule with toughness, competing every night and consistently showing that their preparation, chemistry, and belief in one another could translate into on-court success.
First-year head coach Parker Stewart capped the year by earning 49th District Coach of the Year, a recognition of both the team’s growth and the culture being established within the program.
