The JCHS Generals Football team brought home their first victory of the season by defeating Berea in the “Battle for Big Hill Bowl” on Friday, October 02, 2025. Their newest coach, Coach Chris Byrd led them to victory. The team has experienced instability at the head coach position with Coach Mouser resigning prior to the season and Coach Callebs resigning before the season was half over. Coach Byrd indicates he is there to stay so maybe the team can focus more on football!
The Generals defeated Berea by a final score of 28-6. The Generals’ ground game made the difference as they ran for a total of 255 rushing yards in the game. Davin Seals led the team with 141 yards on the ground. Seals ran for three (3) touchdowns while Wyatt Dunn also scored a rushing touchdown. Dunn and Jacob Jones both crossed the line for 2-point conversions.
On the defensive side of the front line, Gauge Curtis led the team with 8 tackles (7 solo & 1 assisted). The team will host West Carter this Friday, October 10, 2025. Tailgate spots are available for this game. Don't hesitate to get in touch with Parker Stewart at 606-287-7155 for information regarding the Tail Gate Event.
Everyone is invited to attend on Friday night to cheer these amazing young student athletes on to their next victory!
