JCHS Spanish 2 Class Study the Monarch Butterfly and Connections to Spanish Culture

Posted

Mrs. Saylor's Spanish 2 students have been studying the incredible monarch butterfly migration to Michoacán, Mexico. They learned about the butterfly life cycle, conservation efforts, and how monarchs travel to Mexico each fall. Students also discovered how some Indigenous communities view the monarchs as symbols of returning spirits during Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), as the butterflies' arrival coincides with the holiday each year.
