My name is Melissa Anderson. I am the visual art teacher at Jackson County High School. I come from a family filled with creativity on both my mother’s and father’s side, with artists and art teachers inspiring me from a young age.
Growing up with two younger brothers and a sister I often cared for, I naturally developed a love for teaching and leadership. I am also blessed with a supportive husband, three children, three grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, and a son-in-law who make me proud every day.
I earned my Master’s degree in Art Education from Eastern Kentucky University, and teaching has always been my true calling. I feel fortunate to share my passion for art with the children of my hometown. While I enjoy many forms of art, my current focus is on painting, pottery, and digital art, and even after retirement, I hope to continue teaching and inspiring others through creativity.
