At the most recent White House Correspondent's Dinner, (More correctly a “supper.” Jesus had a Last Supper, not a “dinner” in the afternoon.) a third Democrat loon attempted to assassinate President Trump. On 23 May, yet another crazy loosed some 30 rounds at a Uniformed Secret Service checkpoint on the residential streets which run right up to the back of the White House before he was rendered to ambient temperature. And how many “radical” Republicans tried to knock off the saboteurs Obama and Biden? Crickets.
I won’t use my time here this week to make the case that the Democart Party is a clear and present danger to this republic; they make that point nicely all by themselves, thank you. Instead, let’s (as always) look at these situations and pull lessons from them so as to better protect ourselves and our families. Two lessons, specifically.
First, “Rings of Protection.” It matters not what type of “operator” you may be, if the first indication you have of a threat is someone placing hands upon you as you go about your business in public, or tapping you on the nose as you sleep at home; you’re in deep trouble. Read (Now available for free at jeffcooperfoundation.org) Jeff Cooper’s “Principles of Personal Defense” and put his advice into action as you go about your days. On the homefront, harden your castle so that any intruder will have to pass through multiple layers of alarms (perimeter motion detectors; chiming/recording cameras; sturdy locks; and a miniature schnauzer or two in the house) in order to reach you and your family.
Finally, “Have a gun.” That $2,500 2011 locked up in your gun safe or a “truck gun” may as well be in Texas when something goes down in the restaurant you and your family are having dinner (in the afternoon). Our first option is always to get our loved ones out of the danger zone IMMEDIATELY (just as the Secret Service has/will do whenever another peace loving Democrat makes yet another attempt on this president’s life). However, having the ability to “cut” a path out of danger, or have the means to mount a counter-ambush if we are trapped “might” not be critical to our family’s survival; it “will” be the most effective means to save their lives.
