JCHS Lady Generals Win 4 in a Row

by JCHS Lady Generals Head Coach Gary D. Tillery

The Jackson County Lady Generals softball team is on a hot streak, racking up four consecutive victories in a stellar week of play that showcased their growing momentum, solid pitching, and powerful offense.

The winning stretch began on March 7, when the Lady Generals defeated Leslie County by a score of 7-3. Kylie Moore and Candice Williams sparked the offense with two hits apiece, while Williams also commanded the mound with authority, striking out ten batters and keeping the opposition off balance throughout the game.

The following day, March 8, Jackson County continued their winning ways with a strong 10-0 victory over Lee County. Baylee Berry and Blakelynn Fee led the offensive charge, each tallying three hits, with Fee launching her first home run of the season. On the pitching side, Williams was nearly untouchable once again, recording 11 strikeouts and allowing zero earned runs in a dominant performance that continued her impressive week.

After a short break, the Lady Generals hit the road on May 9, traveling to Harlan County for what turned into a classic pitching duel. Jackson County emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, thanks to clutch performances on both sides of the ball. Moore and Sadie Seals led the offense, with Moore driving in both runs in the low-scoring affair. Williams delivered her third straight shutout, this time striking out 13 batters and showing poise and control under pressure.

The week concluded with a statement win over Clay County on May 10, as the Lady Generals rolled to a 10-1 victory. Lexi Brockman had a standout game at the plate with three hits, including her fourth home run of the season. Moore, Berry, and Williams each added two hits, with Moore also going deep for her fifth home run of the season. Williams capped her dominant week with another ten-strikeout performance. The defense shone brightly as well, turning in what coaches called their best defensive outing of the season, highlighted by spectacular plays from the outfield.

With a perfect 4-0 record over the past week, the Jackson County Lady Generals have shown they are a team hitting their stride at the right time. Behind consistent pitching from Candice Williams and a balanced offensive attack, the Lady Generals are building momentum and confidence as the season reaches tournament play.
