Lexington Man Arrested for Allegedly Dragging a Dog on a Leash from a Moving Car

A Lexington man is accused of dragging a dog on a leash from a moving car.
 Woodford Armitage was arrested on the corner of North Limestone and York Street just before 7 p.m. Tuesday.
 According to his arrest citation, the dog was dragged about 50 feet before police stopped the car.
 Officers say Armitage admitted to driving while dragging the dog.
 Armitage is facing charges of second-degree animal cruelty, driving without a license, driving without a vehicle registration receipt and driving without insurance.
 He was taken to the Fayette County Detention Center.
